Do you have Muslim clients and are concerned about the cultural barriers when caring for them?
In collaboration with Yale School of Medicine, we are offering an online cultural competency program that offers 2.0 hours of continuing medical education credits.
Objectives1. Participants will be able to describe the diverse demographic and culture diversity across the American Muslim community
2. Participants will be able to describe the ways Islam and the Muslim tradition may inform explanatory models of mental health, disease, and treatment among the Muslim clientele
3. Participants will be able to describe and reflect on the specific types of transference and counter-transference experienced in cross-cultural counseling
4. Participants will be able to describe behavioral interventions and models of delivering care that have been explored in different communities
